VETTEL HAPPY WITH POSITION

The Red Bull racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that he is extremely happy with the qualifying position achieved in the Brazilian Grand Prix. This is the final race of the 2012 F1 world championship season. Vettel comes into this race 13 points ahead of the nearest rival Fernando Alonso, who has qualified in the eighth position. In order for Sebastian Vettel to win the race, he needs to finish at least above the fourth position if Fernando Alonso wins the race. Red bull have been consistently outpaced by McLaren in the practice and qualifying sessions of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Yet, Sebastian Vettel was able to finish ahead of Fernando Alonso in the qualifying, which meant that he is in a great position to achieve the required result to win the title. As a result, he did not show any signs of stress after the qualifying session. He said that he is extremely happy with the outcome of qualifying. Alonso has stated that it is a very bad position for the team, and he needs help of some chaos in the race. Both Ferrari and Red Bull have been extremely similar during the weekend in terms of pace.

“Nowadays we don’t really have a wet set-up anymore, there are a couple of things you would like to change if it is really wet, but if it is not that wet then we will just put on the wet tyres and go from there. It was a good day for us, we had no major problems and I had a decent long run at the end,” said Sebastian Vettel after the qualifying session. There have been suggestions that Fernando Alonso has taken a gamble by going for the wet weather set up in qualifying due to the fact that that have been predictions of rain during the race.
